  • Artes y Humanidades
  • Educación
  • Recursos Naturales y Ciencias Sociales

José Luis Cruz,  Presidente (Rector), professor of physics in Lehman’s School of Natural and Social Sciences and serves on the board of directors of The Education Trust and the New York Botanical Garden. He is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers as well as a National Science Foundation Career Award recipient. His work on optical interconnections for massively parallel processing systems has been published in scientific journals and presented at international conferences. He earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (magna cum laude) from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez and his doctorate from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Dr. Harriet (Niki) Fayne is the Interim Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at Lehman College, City University of New York. Reporting directly to the President, Dr. Fayne is the College’s chief academic officer, working with key personnel across campus to ensure that students receive high quality instruction and that faculty members have the resources necessary to be productive teacher-scholars.

Dennis George DaCosta joined Lehman College in January 2017 as counsel to the President and Lehman College labor designee. He previously served as a deputy director within the Office of the General Counsel of the New York City Department of Education. He received a bachelor’s degree in government from the University of Virginia and a juris doctor degree from the Fordham University School of Law.

Professor Bertrade Ngo-Ngijol Banoum carries a heavy burden of teaching and service in the Department of African & African American Studies and the Interdisciplinary Program in Women’s Studies. Under her directorship, the Women’s Studies Program at Lehman remains a vibrant center for the exchange of ideas, a rewarding opportunity for students to learn more about themselves and their society, and a friendly place to hang out. Professor Banoum organizes a full slate of events, including an annual open house, scholarly presentations by Lehman faculty and distinguished guest speakers, a student-faculty read-in in honor of Black History Month, panel discussions to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, Women’s History Month, Asian-Pacific Heritage, and more.
